Day 1 of 5 fay fast fact list: Herpes

[00:00:00] Pass facts five days herpes. Today, one of my favorite topics. What do you need to know about herpes? Why do I talk about it so much? Because it's so common. So we're gonna go through this quick in less than a minute. , 30 to 80% of us, depending on who you read, carry it. And when I say carry it, I don't mean we have herpes in that we are expressing symptoms like cold sore here or cold source down there.

But we have seen it. Our body has created antibodies against it. And if you did a blood test, you'd be able to see that there's HSV one that typically causes cold sores around the mouth. Nose cheeks sometimes, and even eyes herpes. Two. HSV two, which typically causes genital herpes. Can you get HSV one Genitally?

Yes. If you have oral sex, you can get HSV one. Genitally. Does it matter which one you get? No. Maybe it just be one recurs less frequently, so that might matter. But otherwise, you either get cold source here, you get cold source here, they're incredibly common. You might carry it and be asymptomatic. In fact, most of us probably carry it asymptomatically, which means we can give it to other people.

Most importantly, don't feel shame.
