Day 4 of 5: Birth control pills

[00:00:00] Okay, day four of Fast faxs. For five days, we're gonna talk about birth control pills, particularly the combined hormone contraception pill that has estrogen progesterone, which also includes the ring in the patch. I wanna talk about it because the pill is an amazing tool for women who merely want birth control or want lighter periods or have ovarian cancer prevention needs.

End endometriosis, acne, mood changes, ovarian cyst, the list goes on. Is it right for everybody? Of course not. If everyone takes the pill, there will be side effects, some of which are just merely unwanted, like maybe weight gain, maybe mood changes, maybe increased acne, maybe even dangerous side effects like blood clot or heart attack, heart attacks, but that doesn't happen to everyone.

There is a huge number of people on Instagram as influencers who are maligning the pill and shaming and blaming women for taking it and making them feel bad. Many women need the pill. Many women don't wanna take the pill or shouldn't take the pill like anything in our lives. I say nothing is ever only.

Everything is always. And let us be equitable and treat the pill for what it is. An amazing, remarkable tool that is not right for everyone, and that's okay.
