Things I personally do not do to my vulva
[00:00:00] Okay. Many of the gynecologists have already posted about things they wouldn't do to their own gyn, their own body and their own vagina. So I will not, uh, exhaustively go through the entire list cuz they've done a good job. But just to reiterate a few, I would never douche, I think we all know that. I hope, you know that I would personally never vaginally steam and I would personally never, um, use any perfuming things up or in my vva or vagina.
The two things that I think people do frequently that I personally would never do because in 23 years I have. What happens? I would not wear pantyliners every day. I strongly dissuade any human with a vulva or vagina to wear a panty liner every day. Pantyliners to me should be reserved for the last couple days.
Of the schmutzy part of your period or the occasional day where you feel like there's just so much discharge that you have already found out is healthy and normal and not yeast, or BV or gonorrhea or chlamydia, and then you've decided you need something. I actually tell people that if they're going to use a pan liner every day, they should get the [00:01:00] reusable ones that are actually made just a, a like washcloth material.
And I used to tell people that we should make those ourselves. I could have made a lot of money. The second thing I would never do, though, I'm not shaming anyone because it is your own. But I find that when you go completely bald on your vulva, there is no cushion, there's no ill air filtration. The hair follicles actually provide some moisture, so going completely bald in my opinion, coupled with things like the pantyliner and the excessive peloton riding have only led to more inflammation on the external vulva.
Those are the things.
