What should patients discuss their Obgyn?

[00:00:00] As an ob gyn, I really try to hit the point home that nothing is tmmi. Your doctors have heard it all before. They want you to tell them things that you might find uncomfortable or embarrassing because this is what we do all day. I actually challenge my patients all the time by saying, trust me, I've heard it.

Go ahead and try to embarrass me. It's really hard and the joke is that we, we really do want to be there to help you. So if you have something new and interesting, we're here for that as well. The things you really absolutely should talk to your gynecologist about. Painful sex discharge that is itching or burning or smelling funny, anything emotional that you're really upset about, especially with regard to anything that has to do with your sexuality or your cycle.

Um, these are some of the, just the beginnings of things, but I can actually truly guarantee you, your doctor is not gonna be surprised if you do find someone who seems to be surprised or seems to be upset with you or makes you feel. if that's a sign that you need to find someone else. I actually encourage my patients to talk [00:01:00] about all the things, and if I ever make them feel bad, I really, really believe that they would openly talk about it to me.
